Ardea Ensemble
Voice - Soprano
Ardea is a Bay Area voice ensemble dedicated to exploring folk polyphony, voice traditions, and contemporary and classical composition. We place special emphasis upon using singing and choral traditions as vehicles for cultural and linguistic preservation, creative collaboration, music education, original arrangements, vocal exploration, and solidarity-building. Our current members are Joe Galang, Tasya Abbott, Nuxia Peng, Amy Lovetus, Jordan Lowe, Sean Emmett Thompson, Rowan Katz, and Nuru Boone - each of whom are multifaceted artists, scholars, composers, and arrangers performing music in the Bay Area and beyond. Recently, Ardea has been honored to sing at The DeYoung Museum, Our Freedom Festival, and The Shop at 1525 Peralta.
The Forgetmenauts
ViolinThe Forgetmenauts weave folklore and mythology into a strange, fresh, and rich soundscape. Their musicality is orchestral, folksy, alternative, and punk all at once. Their lyrics spin old tales and new into exciting and poetic songs that weave together love and queerness, longing and revenge.
The latest album Revel the Night was released in April 2026!
Awesöme Orchestra Collective
ViolinAwesöme Orchestra Collective is a group of Bay Area musicians that holds free and open rehearsals of exciting orchestral repertoire of all kinds. AOC provides a low-pressure environment for people to create and enjoy orchestral music together with an emphasis on collaboration, transparency of process, and high musicianship. We believe the lower the stress, the better the experience.
We seek a diverse group of musicians that represent our community who are passionate about orchestras and seek a more open, encouraging, and democratic music-making experience not always present in traditional ensembles. We seek out musical adventures and innovative ways to make both new and traditional concert music more accessible to our community, from nontraditional venues like museums and parks, to collaborations with local, living artists across all genres.
